I have to thank Dr. Susan Harrison for this week’s thoughts. This is something that she discusses in her seminars on confidence for women and it is a great tool for us as well.
Picture yourself. Not today but in 20 years. Picture yourself, how you feel, what you will be like.
Picture your health. Are you very healthy? Are you taking medications? If so, how many? What will they be for? Or are you free of medications and taking healthy supplements.
Are you moving well? Are you traveling? Playing pickleball or tennis? What are you doing now that you see yourself doing in 20 years?
Take a look in the mirror and tell your future self what it will be like.
Now, let’s take a look at now. Are you doing the things that will support you in 20 years? Or are some changes needed to make that happen. What are some of the changes that you would make?
Next step. Getting the right guidance and support so that those changes will happen and stick. Who will be that person or persons to partner with?
You can begin today. Or you can wait. Change is hard. So is not changing and living with that down the road. And it’s not about doing everything at once. It’s about starting with one thing, then adding another, then another.
As I wrote this I realized that my fitness journey began 20 years ago! When I began I never would have expected it to evolve to where I am and I am extremely grateful!
